Film projection should be in theatres, not museums! In a museum you are a vistor; in a theatre you are an audience!!! I am not at all interested in art experiments à la Tacita Dean! Or the installations a filmmaker like Chantal Akerman was 'obliged' to do...

We operate a small town movie theater in southern New Hampshire and we strive for as near perfect projection as the technology allows. The Wilton Town Hall Theartre has been in existence since 1912 and we have seen the dawn of sound, the saving grace of CinemaScope and Stereophonic Sound ... Dolby Stereo .. and the unfortunate advent of Digital Projection.. however in all cases we remain capable of showing all screen ratios from 1:33 to 1.85 to 2:1.. to 2.55 and 2.35 .. to 2:20 and even 2.76 (for ultra-panavision (thanks to a variety of primary attachments on our CinemaScope projector lenses. We do our best!!!!

Film must not ever be forgotten, not only because of its place in history, but also for the memories of the ordinary man in the street that it played a huge part in their lives when the cinema was a part of everyday life..Why is a digital movie still called a "FILM"!

The aesthetics of photochemical film is unique and amazing. That's why its visual power - wheter it is based on 8, 9.5, 16, 35 or 70mm - will keep its magic also and especially in times of digital ubiquity. Eventually, film perforations do not simply represent a technical process. They rather serve as the DNA of motion pictures at all.
